Laser Hair Removal - FAQs

How is treatment carried out?

The hairs must be pre-shaven before the treatment. The laser is then passed over the area and the melanin (pigment) in the hairs absorbs the light and converts this to heat. This heat then kills and destroys the cells that make the hair, meaning a new hair cannot grow again out of that follicle.

Is it permanent?

This is a question we get asked a lot and the answer is yes! As we kill the cells that make the hair a new hair cannot grow from that follicle, and the follicle will shrink and can even die. What we cannot do is treat a follicle that has no hair in it. If the area of treatment only has a few hairs, for example the chin you may only currently have 10% of your potential hair growth. This means in the future you may get more hair in the other 90% of the follicles, but this hair was not presence at the time of your treatment so couldn’t be killed. So on certain areas of the body on-going treatment may be needed (facial hair in particular).

Am I suitable for treatment?

Most people are suitable for treatment. Best results are seen with people who have lighter skin and dark thick hairs. Dark hair is easier to treat as it has a high concentration of melanin (pigment) and fairer skins mean there is a bigger contrast between hair and skin. Fair hair is trickier to treat and thinner hair, but it is reported that people with fairer, thinner hair still get a good reduction of hair with our system.

How does it feel?

With our Moveo (pain free) hand piece, the area is pre cooled with the sapphire tip, which make the treatment a lot more tolerable. It is often described as a gradual increase in temperature, a bit warm but nothing like the traditional laser where it is like a flick of an elastic band on your skin.

How long does it take?

The treatment length varies depending on the size of the area. Something small such as top lip will take 10 minutes, something larger e.g.: full leg or full back could take 45-60 minutes.

Is there a recovery period?

The skin may be red immediately after treatment and the hair follicles may be swollen and raised but this usually subsides within a few hours. Adverse reactions are rare but may include a small blister or temporary lightening or darkening of the skin.

How many treatments are recommended?

Only hair that is actively growing is affected, therefore multiple treatments are needed a typical average number of treatments is 6-12, though it does vary. Treatments are conducted every 4 to 8 weeks depending on the area being treated, until a good result is seen.

Microblading Brows

- It is considered to be semi permanent makeup, which last 12-24 months, depends on skin type, lifestyle and aftercare.

- It is done using a very fine blade to deposit pigment into the epidermis layer of the skin, mimicking natural hair strokes.

- Ideal for anyone wanting to enhance the look of their eyebrows. The results are natural looking hair-like strokes, fuller and more defined looking eyebrows regardless of the amount of hair you currently have.

Microblading Brows - FAQs

Is it painful?- The level of discomfort is relatively minor and varies between individuals. Some people have reported the experience to be similar in pain to tweezing two to three hairs at the same time. We use numbing cream and topical anaesthetic to numb the area before and during the treatment. Topical anaesthetics are safe and may contain lidocaine, tetracaine and epinephrine.

- Redness and slight swelling in the area is common after the procedure. The feeling can be compared to the experience of slight sunburn. Aftercare soothing gel is provided to help with calming the skin and speed up the healing process.

How long does it take?- It is done in two sessions. The first takes two to three hours. In the first session, the brow is shaped and styled to the client’s preference, and pigment is applied. Four to six weeks later, the client returns for the second session for touch up. A touch up can take anywhere from one to two hours.

Why is a touch up needed?- A touch up is necessary because everyone heals differently and therefore results vary due to skin type, lifestyle and aftercare. Sometimes it is necessary to adjust the colour and brow thickness by adding more strokes. In the touch up session, the final adjustments are made to assure the client’s satisfaction.

What if I don’t like it?- The style, shape and colour will be discussed thoroughly before the treatment is carried out. Adjustments may be made during touch up, such as pigment discoloration and colour correction

Powder/Ombre Brows

- It is a technique of cosmetic tattooing that provides a means to fill the brow with a dot shading effect resulting in a daily makeup look done with an eyebrow pencil, powder or pomade.

- It is suitable for all skin types and to cover up old semi permanent makeup work.

- It lasts 12-36 months and requires less touch up than microblading.

Tatoo Removal

Natural Nails Treatment

Manicure - nourishing your hand with a manicure, which includes cut, shape, tidy up cuticles, massage and polish. Weekly manicures will help to stimulate nail growth and keep your cuticles and hands in excellent condition.

Pedicure - pampering your feet with a relaxing spa pedicure, which includes cut, shape, tidy up cuticles dead skin removal, exfoliation and scrubbing, massage and polish. Having a pedicure every 2-3 weeks will help to maintain healthy toe nails and soft, nourished feet.

Luxury manicure - upgrade your manicure to a truly luxury experience. On top of what you get for a normal manicure, we use premium OPI Spa Pro, extra exfoliation and finish off with a warm paraffin wax to make sure your hands are left perfectly soft and pampered.

Luxury pedicure - a truly luxurious treatment using premium OPI Spa Pro products and finish off with a warm paraffin wax and longer feet massage that leave your feet light and soft.

Nails Enhancement

Full-set/Overlay - If you’re looking to extend the length of your nails or want to keep long, natural nails, a full set or overlay of powder Gel would be the ideal choice. We also provide other type of nails enhancements products such as clear SNS dipping powder, pink and white or Ombre nails.

Infill - this treatment focuses on the regrowth of your nails to maintain the gap and re-shape to your preference. It is recommended to have infill every 2-3weeks.

Take off and renew - this treatment is needed after 4-6 infills (or every 3 months). The old enhancement product is completely removed and new one is put on for freshness, strength and to ensure that your natural nails are in good condition.

Eyelash Extension- having long, dense and curl lashes is every woman's dream. Depending on your need you can choose to have individual or volume eyelash extensions. Hot Wax - We use Lycon hot wax- a traditional, less painful and gentler to the skin method of hair removal. An additional layer of oil is applied to your skin before the wax to ensure your skin is protected and soothed. The hair is removed from root without the need of paper strip. Ideal for those who have sensitive skin or coarse hair.
